The opportunity is with a top mining company. A very interesting role for a technically qualified individual with experience in mining operations, plant operations or engineering, but who has grown into a coaching leadership role to develop talent in these areas.

A relevant degree in mining or engineering is essential, as is Advanced Excel skills due to all the reporting requirements.Proven skills in coaching and mentoring or developing supervisory and mid management level employees is essential.

The role is reserved for South African citizens and based in the Northern Cape. Relocation and accomodation will be covered by the employer.

Key responsibilities will include:

• To establish and promote a coaching leadership style as a developmental approach by Line Management
• To ensure that Supervisory and Mid-level management development programmes are optimised and/or delivered in a professional and sustainable manner whilst adhering to safety and legislative requirements
• To ensure that the leadership and management capability development of supervisors and mid-level managers are aligned with other Kumba strategic initiatives and imperatives through coaching.
• To ensure all Supervisory and Mid-level management development actions are captured and supported by a portfolio of evidence
• To leverage relevant development and coaching material and resources in support of Departmental Heads and Section managers
• To track, monitor and report on Supervisor and mid-level managers development actions and initiatives
• To provide supervisor and mid-level manager development training to build Management, Leadership and Coaching capabilities
• To track, monitor and report on Foreman scorecard performance and identify actions to close gaps

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

• B Degree in mining or engineering – essential
• 5 Years’ experience in Mining environment
• 3-5 years project and/or consultant experience would be advantageous
• 5 Years coaching experience would be advantageous
• Computer literacy with Advanced Excel skills essential
• Valid South African Driver’s license essential
