If you have the drive to launch a brand-new, cutting edge underground mine planning software to the EMEA market, this role is for you.
The worlds’ biggest mining house has just bought it – the product is that great. The company is well-known for their specialised mining software solutions and builds on their reputation with this new product.
You will take it from launch to established in the Africa, Middle-East and Europe region.The role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business. This role will be supported by the Global Advance technical team and a strong technical presales engineer locally.
The role is based in South Africa, with international travel as deemed necessary – probably once a month. Therefore we are specifically only considering South African citizens and permanent resident.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified mining engineer with a strong understanding of underground mining, preferably around planning and scheduling, and deep interest in/ previous experience with selling or consulting on mining software.
Core Competencies
- Sales skills (e.g. lead generation, networking, communication, solution identification, closing)
- Technical Ability in building mine schedules (both long term and production) for Proof of Value engagements
- Ability to communicate the value of scheduling solutions in the underground market segment.
- Strong networking skills and capacity for developing prospect and customer relationships
- Ability to strategically communicate the value of a disruptive technology in a highly penetrated segment with a long-standing incumbent.
Experience and Education
- 7+ years’ experience in business development, client consultation and delivery of IT and/or Mining solutions
- Experience in software sales and/or in a similar vendor environment would be beneficial.
- Mining related experience – Underground required.
- Excellent written & verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a business environment
- A stable track record of achieving above budget sales performance where most revenue was derived from new customers
