Our client is a market leader in construction materials. They have 2 vacancies at prsent for technically strong Regional Sales Managers to join the team in Gauteng (and Mpumalanga) or in Durban (and Western Cape). These roles will report directly to the respective  GMs and requires strong people management skills as well as excellent customer interaction skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Manage the sales portfolio and optimize the sales of readymix or aggregates regionally to facilitate revenue maximization
• Lead, manage the readymix sales activities to achieve sales revenue target
• Plan, implement and activate the sales plans to achieve set targets
• Provide market intelligence regarding opportunities and competitor information
• Build and maintain customer relationships through service excellence and a good understanding of the customer’s business
• Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure
• Lead and manage the sales team people to achieve performance objectives

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:

• Business degree related to sales and marketing – essential
• 8 years sales experience in the building and construction industry plus 5 years in a senior sales position
• Extensive travelling between KZN and Cape operations are required, or Johannesburg and Witbank
• Knowledge of the building and construction industry dynamics, process of supplying Readymix or aggregates and product applications
• Good understanding of profitability and margins
• Sound understanding of the Construction Materials sales business strategies and plans, sales systems and knowledge of pricing and distribution variables
• Good knowledge of the market segments and requirements
• Good selling techniques, good business acumen
• Excellent negotiating, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent team building and coaching skill, ability to motivate and lead teams
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with customers at all levels
